Transportation From Amsterdam Central Station
From Central Station (CS) Amsterdam we advise tramnumber 2. Leaving at the tramstop on the westside (there is one on the east and one on the west side, you will not find a number 2 on the eastside) this methode of transportation takes you from the bussy city center, along and over squares, the museumdistrict into the residential area the Hem Hotel is located.
Another option of transportation would be to take a taxi. The taxistand is always crowded with plenty of taxi's. Make sure you select a fully licenced driver that is allowed to use the tram track. ...the advantage? You will not be slown down by strongtraffic during peakhours. In case you need help while negotiating your conditions tot the taxidriver their is a supervisor on duty. Taxidrivers are obliged to take any ride offered by Dutch law, taxidrivers at Amsterdam Central Station are famous for selecting their passengers based on the distance of the ride offered. The further the better and although the Hem Hotel is an ok ride, it does not compare to rides to Schiphol Airport, or even further.

Do not hesitate to ask the Tramdriver upfront or the conductor at the back of the tram to remind you for your stop at the Hem hotel, at Westlandgracht. Sit close to them and keep visual contact so they'll remember your request. But don't worry, Hem Hotel Amsterdam is also included in the automatic announcement made before the stop at Westlandgracht.
Once out of the tram you seem to be on a bridge, the water is called Westlandgracht. You walk towards the yellow buildings, first street left (not the stairs to the canal), second right, that's around the corner of the firebrigade indeed, and you'll walk right to us up. To check the way in Google Maps, please, view HEM Hotel Amsterdam, directions from the tram stop also for a great enlargement of this map below.
